2. Earn UMass Class Credit for your Volunteer Hours

Student volunteers can turn their experience into an internship for credit.   They must actively be part of a Development Team.  The steps involved in getting credit are as follows:
  1. Find a professor to sponsor you.  This can be a lecturer, associate professor, assistant professor, etc., it cannot be regular staff or a TA.
  2. After you find a sponsor, they need to come to Goodell 511 to pick up an academic contract which will need to be signed by the sponsor determining the type and number of credits.  We will explain everything to the student when they come to the office.
Basically for every 40 hours a student works, they can potentially earn 1 credit. If you have any questions, please email Teresa Hart at UMass Career Services Download Sample Academic Contract
